Electrical Estimator (Commercial)
About The Position
Erwin Electric, an established electrical contractor with a strong reputation, is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support commercial projects ranging from $500K to $10M+. These projects include schools, healthcare facilities, auto dealerships, churches, retail centers, multifamily developments, manufacturing facilities, and other commercial projects. The company values estimators who embrace technology and seek to improve accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration using modern estimating tools and processes. The role involves working closely with leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams to develop accurate, competitive bids that contribute to company growth and project success.
Requirements
- 3+ years of electrical estimating experience
- Commercial electrical construction experience
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation methods
- Experience reviewing plans and specifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Accubid, LiveCount, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software
- Field experience
Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Perform takeoffs and prepare detailed electrical estimates
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Develop bid proposals, scope letters, and pricing strategies
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
- Support project turnover by communicating scope and expectations to operations teams
