About The Position

This posting is for Summer 2027 New Graduate opportunities. IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Idaho Falls, ID to support the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one. You will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants, contribute to project planning and budgeting, and collaborate with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams to help meet project goals and client expectations. This opportunity supports work across industrial, manufacturing, and MEP markets while building practical experience in client communication, quality processes, and integrated project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
  • Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck ; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings using engineering software and tools to develop designs, specifications, and calculations that align with code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Interact with clients to gather project requirements and communicate technical information clearly and professionally
  • Support project execution as part of a project team while assisting with planning and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose practical, efficient solutions with support from senior engineers and consultants
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering
  • Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and help identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
  • Work within the project’s monetary budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
