About The Position

The Electrical Engineering Manager will play a key role in contributing to Rosenbauer Americas development of new products. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the technical strategies of the Electrical Systems utilizing system engineering processes. In support of all Rosenbauer America Products, you will be responsible to manage a team to develop integrated hardware and software solutions to meet your respective system and sub-system performance requirements. Responsibilities will also include leading and supporting products electrical research and development projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of related electrical engineering experience required.
  • 5+ years experience in heavy truck and/or automotive systems preferred.
  • Language: Able to find, read, and interpret relevant scientific and technical documentation and standards.
  • Able to initiate, facilitate, and lead engineering discussions by creating agendas, listening, asking relevant questions, requesting ideas for solutions, and providing directions/decisions as necessary.
  • Able to give clear and concise written and verbal directions to direct reports and to large groups.
  • Able to determine when miscommunications are occurring and provide clarity and alignment during important discussions.
  • Math: Able to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer: Able to perform intermediate PC functions including the use of spreadsheet tables and formulas.
  • Able to work within Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and CAD.
  • Abilities: Able to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for efficient assembly and serviceability preferred.
  • Knowledge of firefighting processes and equipment preferred.
  • Previous experience managing a group preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and maintain adequate staff to accomplish Rosenbauer America Electrical Engineering goals.
  • Identify resource needs with justification.
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise and monitor progress of projects to successful conclusions, which includes manpower, budget, timing, and performance goals.
  • Develop and implement consistent processes to manage the products and data across the electrical engineering team.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement ideas.
  • Review Product specifications for implementation feasibility and advise on better performing, higher quality solutions when applicable.
  • Direct the management and maintenance of your sub-systems BoMs and the management of the data within a PDM and a CAD system.
  • Direct appropriate analysis and/or tests to ensure performance, durability, and safety criteria are met.
  • Act as an internal product specialist in support of your core technology development team and drive development of best practices and processes associated with your core technology.
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects and objectives as well as handling unscheduled tasks.
  • Lead the team in analysis and problem-solving techniques to develop products and address issues.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with Rosenbauer America leadership team, other product development engineering teams and all cross functional teams.
  • Sustain the Quality management System with required departmental standards.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization.
