Our Company is currently seeking a self-motivated, driven and hardworking professional Electrical Engineer Lead to join our Halifax, Nova Scotia office. Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline such as Building Systems
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P. Eng.) in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Engineering and/or design coordination experience in the consulting industry would be beneficial
  • Experience in multi-disciplined project coordination and management
  • Require comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, complemented with a strong knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
  • Experience conducting site visits would be an asset.
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of REVIT would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Team leader and ability to lead young professionals with a passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers.
  • Develop a high-performing team and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Prepare deliverables to facilitate project planning and budget control.
  • Prepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
  • Oversee a talented team of electrical professionals, guiding and development and ensuring top-tier project execution.
  • Review and execute electrical design and layout.
  • Review electrical technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.).
  • Attend project meetings to coordinate with other disciplines and project consultants.
  • Inspecting project sites in order to monitor progress and ensure compliance with all safety and government regulations.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines internally as well as externally with consultants and architects.
  • Completing technical reviews and providing recommendations regarding designs and reports.
  • Promote and maintain the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of electrical engineering work.
  • Completing audits of the work that is produced to ensure design is completed with quality and assurance.
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Assist in business development and maintaining existing client relationships.
