About The Position
DLR Group is an integrated design firm focused on elevating the human experience through design. The South Central region has an opening for an Electrical Engineering Summer Intern. This role is available in Dallas, Texas, and Houston, Texas. DLR Group's Emerging Professional Experience (EPX) Program offers interns a meaningful introduction to the AEC industry, providing hands-on project work, mentorship, and learning sessions. Topics covered include design culture, sustainability, design technology, communication, marketing, project management, research, equity, and career development. Interns will gain exposure to various disciplines and contribute to shaping the built environment.
Requirements
- Completed at least one year at an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
- Experience or interest in BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) workflow.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Interest in architectural building design.
Responsibilities
- Work with a licensed engineer designing electrical systems for new construction and/or building renovation projects.
- Attend design team meetings with an electrical engineer and observe coordination among multi-disciplinary team members.
- Assist an electrical engineer with the design and development of construction documents primarily using Revit.
- Visit an active construction site (contingent on the status of local construction projects).
