About The Position

Novelis, a global leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern for a 12-week summer 2027 internship at their Davenport, IA facility. This on-site internship offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful work, gain hands-on industry experience, and learn about PLCs, programmable drives, and networking. The intern will report to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University
Must obtain the classification Sophomore, Junior, or Senior interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Prefer students majoring in Electrical Engineering or related fields

Responsibilities

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks, promoting open communication with peers and providing updates to direct management.
Assist in drafting and submitting budget proposals, recommend subsequent budget changes when necessary.
Assist maintenance and engineering in diagnosing equipment problems and recommend methods to prevent reoccurrence of these issues to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in making minor adaptations and modifications to electrical equipment.
