About The Position

The Electrical Engineering Intern provides technical support to SEL staff and customers, develops and maintains knowledge of SEL processes and technologies, and tests new and existing technology. The intern documents and communicates test results and follows SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. The role also includes other duties as assigned. This internship is located in Pullman, Washington. SEL managers work with interns to arrange flexible schedules that accommodate classes and studying while working part-time during the school year. Interns contribute high-quality work and gain real-world experience; interns are frequently hired for full-time roles after graduation, although this is not guaranteed.

Requirements

Experience in programming and script files.
Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems.
Working knowledge of emulators and logic analyzers.
Ability to use MS Windows and serial port terminal emulation software.
Practical knowledge of SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
Ability to use Microsoft Visio.
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
Negative drug test result(s).
