About The Position

The Substation Electrical Engineering Intern will join a substation engineering team designing new and upgraded substations for public and private electric utility clients. Projects range from relay and protection upgrades at existing facilities to full electrical design packages for new transmission and distribution substations. This position offers a direct opportunity to apply electrical engineering coursework to the equipment, protection, and control systems that keep the electric grid running reliably. As an Electrical Substation Intern, the selected candidate will learn to apply industry standards, including IEEE, NESC, and NEC, in the development of one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and equipment specifications. The intern will assist Senior Engineers with power system studies and equipment selection, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of substation design from concept through construction support.
