About The Position

Sargent & Lundy is hiring an Electrical Engineering Consultant 2 for its Nuclear Power Group. This role leads electrical engineering teams on challenging projects, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving a wide range of electrical engineering issues in support of single- and multi-discipline projects. Most client projects require coordination and interfaces across multiple disciplines. The position leads project teams through detailed electrical engineering design, manages project deliverables and controls, develops scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and proposals for complex nuclear power plant electrical modifications, and provides technical oversight for engineering design change packages, calculations, specifications, and equipment procurement. The role also serves as a client liaison, mentors group members, and helps identify opportunities for follow-on work. The role follows a hybrid work arrangement: three days per week in the office and two days remotely. U.S. work authorization sponsorship is not provided. Candidates must be capable of obtaining a badge for unescorted access to a nuclear station.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • 10 years of experience designing electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants.
  • 3 years of experience leading an engineering design group through all phases of project design.
  • Experience selecting equipment and materials and preparing and assembling engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
  • Experience serving as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Experience designing electrical systems, including low- and medium-voltage distribution systems and equipment such as transformers, generators, motors, and relays.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for conveying information to project team members and clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear station.
  • Must already have U.S. work authorization; the employer does not sponsor work authorization for this position.
