About The Position

Barge Design Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineering Associate to join their Facilities Engineering Solution Center. This role supports the design and development of electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects, contributing to solutions that power critical infrastructure and enhance the built environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • EIT Certification
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal/communication and teamworking skills

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2+ years of experience in the industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to provide a comprehensive project report or detailed design
  • Prepare engineering and design documents using computer assisted engineering and design software to generate 2D and 3D models and plans
  • Assists in the analysis or preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs for project
  • Perform lighting photometric designs
  • Perform electrical calculations for voltage drop and cable sizing, electrical service sizing, panelboard, and electrical equipment designs
  • Perform electrical studies including short circuit analysis, coordination, and arc flash studies
  • Coordinate with other disciplines including civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical engineering to complete detailed designs
  • Participate in project site visits with other project team members as needed
  • Participate in Construction Administration of projects by reviewing submittals, assisting engineers in responding to requests for information from contractors
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail
  • Able to learn and implement code requirements on projects including National Electrical Code, standard operations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties as requested
