Working with electrical, mechanical, software, robotics, and systems engineering teams, the engineer contributes to reliable electronic systems for complex electromechanical applications. The position supports electrical hardware and custom PCBA development throughout the product lifecycle, including requirements definition, implementation, bring-up, troubleshooting, and verification. It also involves hardware integration, developing test methods and fixtures, designing and documenting electrical interfaces, and integrating and troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems. The engineer supports prototypes, laboratory testing, failure investigations, engineering documentation, and compliance with applicable QMS requirements. Travel of up to 10% may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic engineering development.
  • Strong electronic circuit fundamentals, including the ability to analyze analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, sensor-interface, and actuator-control circuits.
  • Experience developing custom PCBAs, including schematic capture, circuit analysis, design reviews, bring-up, troubleshooting, and verification.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical hardware integration, testing, and debugging.
  • Understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, control circuits, wiring, grounding, and electrical interfaces.
  • Experience with microcontroller-based prototyping platforms or embedded electronic systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Altium Designer or comparable electrical CAD software.
  • Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, or similar prototyping platforms.
  • Experience transitioning electronic prototypes into reliable industrial control solutions.
  • Exposure to industrial automation, PLC programming, functional safety, or electrical safety.
  • Experience with robotics, laboratory automation, regulated product development, medical devices, or other safety-critical electromechanical systems.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams involving software, mechanical, robotics, systems, and clinical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and development of electrical hardware, custom printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and subsystems throughout the product lifecycle, including requirements definition, implementation, bring-up, troubleshooting, and verification.
  • Perform PCBA bring-up, debugging, hardware integration, and verification to ensure electrical systems meet performance, reliability, and quality requirements.
  • Develop test methods, fixtures, and documentation for hardware verification and investigation of electrical and system-level failures.
  • Design, implement, and document electrical interfaces connecting sensors, actuators, embedded controllers, communication networks, and software components.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot low-voltage electrical systems, including control circuits, industrial controllers, fieldbus networks, wiring, grounding, and cabling.
  • Support prototype development, laboratory testing, and evaluation of electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, robotics, and systems engineering teams to identify and resolve hardware integration challenges.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and support compliance with applicable Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
