Electrical Engineer - Commercial High-Rise MEP
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to develop electrical systems for high-rise buildings and large-scale commercial projects. The role requires at least five years of building electrical design experience, advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and the ability to produce coordinated, accurate, construction-ready design packages. Relevant commercial building or high-rise electrical design experience is essential; candidates with residential-only electrical design experience will not qualify. The engineer will design and document electrical systems for complex commercial properties, coordinate designs with other disciplines, review packages for quality and constructability, and support projects through construction documentation and construction-phase coordination. The position involves managing assigned deliverables and working with project managers and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, meet deadlines, and maintain design quality.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of electrical engineering or building systems design experience.
- Advanced proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings or complex commercial developments.
- Experience with commercial facilities such as office buildings, condominiums, hotels, airports, industrial properties, or municipal buildings.
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, electrical load calculations, applicable codes, and engineering design standards.
- Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, electrical, and other MEP construction drawings.
- Experience preparing detailed electrical designs and construction documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Residential-only electrical design experience does not qualify.

- Experience working for an MEP consulting firm, particularly in South Florida.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, airports, municipal buildings, industrial facilities, and other complex commercial properties.
- Prepare electrical plans, layouts, details, specifications, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Perform electrical load calculations, establish system requirements, select equipment, and develop power distribution and lighting layouts.
- Apply applicable electrical codes, building regulations, and engineering standards throughout the design process.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify design conflicts, omissions, and coordination issues.
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and other design professionals to ensure integrated project documentation.
- Review drawings and technical packages for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and constructability.
- Respond to construction-phase questions, assist with technical coordination, and incorporate necessary design revisions.
- Manage assigned design deliverables from initial development through final construction documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, meet project deadlines, and maintain design quality.
