Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, industrial technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, maintenance, or reliability within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of electrical power systems, motors, drives, PLCs, controls, and industrial automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex electrical issues using analytical tools and structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Familiarity with reliability principles, predictive technologies, and maintenance work processes.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all electrical codes and standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Paper mill experience or exposure to high‑speed process industries is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Lean practices and continuous improvement tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily mill operations by providing technical expertise in electrical systems, drives, instrumentation, and automation platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues affecting production, including PLCs, motor control centers, DCS/automation systems, sensors, networks, and field instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance electricians, operators, and reliability teams to ensure timely and effective corrective actions.
  • Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including inspection, condition‑based monitoring, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to capital and improvement projects involving equipment upgrades, automation enhancements, and control system optimization.
  • Work with OEMs, vendors, and contractors to evaluate technical issues, support equipment commissioning, and ensure safe and compliant installation work.
  • Help maintain documentation for electrical systems, including schematics, equipment history, and technical standards.
  • Promote safe work practices, compliance with electrical regulations, and continuous improvement in all maintenance activities.
