About The Position

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for optimizing, stabilizing, and improving manufacturing processes on coil coating and finishing lines through electrical, controls, and automation engineering expertise. This role primarily focuses on process stability, reliability, safety, quality, and throughput, while also leading or supporting capital and expense projects when required to enable process improvements. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience as an engineer in an industrial environment
  • Experience with PLC's, HMI's, AC drives & motors, low & medium power distribution, and instrumentation
  • Experience managing and executing capital projects.
  • Root cause problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Providing process improvements to safely meet Warrick Operations' business plan.
  • Creating and developing programs that will support process improvements and new electrical systems.
  • Coordinating all phases of assigned area electrical engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
  • Assisting production and maintenance with equipment and process issues.
  • Function as a problem solver.
  • Apply theory and experience to accurately troubleshoot problems, develop sustainable fixes, and drive long-term improvements to equipment.
  • Lead and participate in process improvements with multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance, and production.
  • Mentor employees to increase their process knowledge and support their career growth.
  • Work to eliminate waste through reliability enhancements and monitoring processes, ensuring they are in control and meeting expectations.
