Electrical Engineer, Maritime

Anduril•Boston, MA
•$129,000 - $171,000

About The Position

Anduril is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join its Maritime team and help build the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). The engineer will work with program leadership and cross-functional teams to design and support subsystem integration, testing, and system performance verification against required specifications and standards. The role covers full-cycle PCB design, payload and subsystem development, system interconnect and wire-harness definition, troubleshooting across electrical and software boundaries, and AUV system integration and testing through TRLs 3–8. The engineer will also contribute to vehicle platform design and analysis, requirements analysis, design reviews, and verification planning in a multidisciplinary product development environment. The role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance and travel of 25%, with potential surges above that level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, and current probes, and with test automation.
  • Familiarity with interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, and USB.
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices and technologies.
  • Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as Git, GitHub, and JIRA.
  • Comfort using electronic CAD tools; Altium preferred, with Eagle and other tools acceptable.
  • Comfort conducting worst-case circuit or uncertainty analysis.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel 25%, with potential surges above that.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Altium electronic CAD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle PCB design, including requirements collection, schematic design, component selection, layout supervision or completion, bring-up, testing, debugging, and system integration.
  • Troubleshoot issues spanning electrical and software boundaries using laboratory equipment and software debugging tools.
  • Develop payloads and subsystems, including sensors, payload interfaces, power management, and networking.
  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses connecting electronic equipment within a subsystem.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver functional products.
  • Support new development and customer-operated hardware in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews.
  • Design and support integration and testing of AUV systems through TRLs 3–8.
  • Conduct vehicle platform system design and analysis as required by supported programs or efforts.
  • Perform requirements analysis and plan system verification to ensure compliance with project goals and industry standards.
  • Work with multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout product design, integration, and testing.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of the total compensation package.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as comprehensive and competitive and available at little to no cost to employees.
