About The Position

Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) Facilities – Engineering & Design Team. This role involves executing electrical designs for small to multi-year government projects in extreme winter environments across three Antarctic stations and additional field camps. The program is undergoing a 10-year upgrade to transform one station and sustain existing infrastructure. The Electrical Engineer will be part of the Engineering team, responsible for designing and coordinating safe, technically accurate, and cost-effective power distribution and electrical systems for station facilities and lodging. The position requires working independently and as part of a team, applying engineering principles to prepare deliverables that comply with codes and standards, and utilizing engineering technology for continuous improvement. Deployment to Antarctica for 3-8 weeks may be required, necessitating physical and dental examinations. Outside of deployment, the position allows 100% remote work. US Citizenship and a Public Trust security clearance are required. Leidos ASC is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the United States Antarctic Program (USAP), providing science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across remote research stations like McMurdo, Palmer, and South Pole Stations.
