Computational Physics, Inc. (CPI) is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a background in satellite communications to support two-way satellite time transfer (TWSTT) and fiber time transfer (FTT) systems at the U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO) in Washington, D.C. The USNO is responsible for the creation, dissemination, and maintenance of precise time and navigation products. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and performance validation of TWSTT and FTT systems and their integration into existing timing infrastructure. This role involves working with a team to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain these systems, as well as investigating new approaches to time transfer and improvements to existing techniques. Most work will be on-site at USNO, with potential travel required. An active SECRET security clearance is mandatory, with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.
