Our client is seeking a Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) to join their growing engineering team supporting major refinery and oil & gas projects in the Pacific Northwest. This hybrid opportunity offers the flexibility of working three days onsite in Ferndale, WA (Tuesday–Thursday) and two days remotely (Monday & Friday) while contributing to innovative capital projects for industry-leading clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 8–10+ years of electrical engineering experience
  • Experience within Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, Chemical Processing, or Heavy Industrial Facilities
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License Required
  • Experience with Low & Medium Voltage Power Distribution
  • Experience with Hazardous Area Classification
  • Experience with Electrical Equipment Specifications
  • Experience with Protective Relay Coordination
  • Experience with Power System Analysis
  • Experience with Arc Flash Studies
  • Experience with Short Circuit Analysis

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support electrical engineering design for refinery and industrial facility projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Design electrical systems for refinery and industrial facilities.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical construction packages.
  • Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, conduit sizing, grounding design, and lighting calculations.
  • Perform power system studies including Arc Flash Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination.
  • Utilize ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower software.
  • Prepare electrical equipment specifications.
  • Develop scopes of work and technical documentation.
  • Prepare material requisitions and review vendor submittals.
  • Evaluate electrical equipment and recommend technical solutions.
  • Respond to RFIs during construction.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and refinery turnaround activities.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, API, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 497.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide engineering leadership throughout project execution.
