  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards applicable to the role (e.g., NEC/NFPA 70; NFPA 70E; IEEE and ANSI standards as applicable).
  • Experience creating and maintaining electrical drawings and documentation (one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and coordinate with operations/maintenance to implement safe, effective solutions.
  • Experience working with vendors/contractors, technical procurement, and field execution/commissioning support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems design, testing, installation, and maintenance practices for low- and/or medium-voltage applications.
  • Knowledge of safety practices for working around electrical hazards and ability to apply safe work practices in the field.
  • Skill in interpreting and producing technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design and engineering tools and common engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent; Phytom; MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent), as applicable to the role.
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate system performance, and recommend changes to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate work activities and manage competing priorities in a project environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, including configuration/document control.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with medium-voltage distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, PLC/controls integration, instrumentation, and reliability programs.
  • Experience with power system analysis and/or arc flash studies using industry tools.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience in designing EV charging systems, including AC and DC fast‑charging infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, grounding, protection coordination, and equipment selection for EV charging stations
  • Familiarity with integrating EV charging loads into existing electrical systems and renewable microgrids
  • Experience in Designing, testing, and supervising solar PV system components, including inverters, protection devices, and power distribution equipment, experience with energy storage systems
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Coursework or certifications related to power systems, controls/automation, and/or safety (e.g., NFPA 70E).

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, and systems to meet operational, safety, and reliability requirements.
  • Develop engineering deliverables such as one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, control narratives, equipment specifications, and installation standards.
  • Direct or coordinate construction/installation, maintenance, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, applicable codes/standards, and customer requirements.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses (e.g., load flow, short-circuit, arc flash inputs, grounding, conductor sizing, protective device coordination) to support design and safe operation.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering/design tools (e.g., CAD/CAE) to complete design work, maintain drawings, and manage revisions.
  • Support project planning and execution by developing scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and technical bid evaluations; track progress to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues through field investigations, data analysis, and root-cause problem solving; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors to evaluate existing systems, propose upgrades, and improve operating efficiency.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe equipment operation/commissioning to verify conformance to design intent and operational/safety standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and lessons learned for engineering studies and completed projects.
  • Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives including reliability, energy efficiency, and lifecycle cost reduction.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by following established safety practices and participating in hazard reviews and risk assessments.
