About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs LLC has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer at our Monessen, PA facilities in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. The Electrical Engineer will provide engineering evaluations, designs and recommendations for a wide range of equipment and systems within the facility. Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent field from an accredited school.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and understand technical information, prints and engineering data, interpret charts, graphs, and gauge scales.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be available to work off-hours and days as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to work in both office and industrial environments, including wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, fall protection) and performing tasks involving heights, stairs, uneven surfaces, and extended periods of computer-based work.
  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • An understanding of coke plant operations, including the inter-relationship of engineering with operation and maintenance function background is a plus.
  • Working experience in a coke manufacturing setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Takes action to prevent hazards and noncompliance.
  • Reviews equipment problems such as poor performance, reduced availability, loss of efficiency, or loss of capacity; determines root causes and proposes and implements solutions.
  • Designs systems and equipment to correct problems or add asset value.
  • Involvement with project execution for capital projects that are being developed and installed in the facility, including but not limited to: formulation of equipment specification, project cost controls, overseeing construction and start up.
  • Work with the plant’s power distribution system of 3-phase 2300 and 480 voltage AC and 250 voltage DC.
  • Other duties as assigned.
