About The Position

Dewberry’s Raleigh, North Carolina office is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical building systems as part of a project team under the supervision of a senior engineer in the Building Services Group. The role offers opportunities to contribute design solutions, collaborate with project teams, and help deliver work while balancing quality, schedule, and budget goals. The engineer will work toward an independent design role, project management opportunities, and/or technical subject matter expertise.

Dewberry’s Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) team serves nationwide clients in specialized facility types and MEPS design services. Its work includes high-performance buildings, hospitals, net-zero and renewable energy technologies, microgrids, and energy resilience. The Raleigh Building Services Group serves public and private clients across K–12 schools, universities, community colleges, state-owned facilities, correctional institutions, municipal projects, and select commercial ventures. The Raleigh team includes approximately 300 design professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• 3–5 years of experience providing vertical building design and construction administration services for electrical lighting, power, and telecommunications systems.
• Self-motivated and well organized.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• FE certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina building codes is a plus.
• Experience with the North Carolina State Construction Office is a plus.
