Requirements

4 to 7 years of related experience is required.
A degree in engineering with the appropriate discipline is required.
Registered with PEO, and holds a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng), or equivalent in Canada.
Knowledge of industry codes and regulations is required.
Familiarity with AutoCAD.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites applications.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong project management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high quality work.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design practices.
Valid Driver’s License with access to a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with MicroStation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Independently perform calculations, draft designs, and lead small-to-medium projects.
Develop engineering deliverables.
Participate in site visits and inspections to review engineering systems as required.
Coach junior staff and support the growth of the engineering team.
Learn and apply engineering principles.
Ensure accuracy in work.
Effectively communicate with team members and clients.
Independently prepares and verifies moderate to complex technical calculations.
In collaboration with internal and external multidisciplinary subject matter experts, performs and finalizes detailed designs and technical drawings, as per applicable codes, regulations and client standards.
Conduct site visits for data collection, lead assessments and to provide recommendations for remedial action.
Leads QAQC (quality assurance quality control) checks as required.
Contributes to the preparation of project documentation and technical report development.
Identifies and pursues new business opportunities.
Lead in the preparation and presentation of single discipline proposals.
Manages client communications including regular updates, contract negotiation, and documentation.
Addresses and provides resolutions for client concerns.
Maintain records of client interactions and project updates.
Leads small project teams, ensuring project delivery meets scopes, schedules, budget, and quality requirements.
Provides oversight in planning and execution of projects.
Manages project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
Coordinates and supports the project team, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Participates in training and certification programs, as required.
Attends relevant industry workshops and seminars, as required.
Engage in learning opportunities to develop technical and professional skills.
