Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in nuclear, DOE, industrial, or high‑hazard environments.
  • Experience with low/medium voltage distribution systems, electrical equipment specification, wiring design, and code‑compliant installations.
  • Proven ability to lead electrical design activities and coordinate with construction, operations, and multi‑discipline engineering teams.
  • Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings, design analyses, and technical documentation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience with nuclear facility electrical systems, safety‑class/safety‑significant equipment, and NQA‑1 quality requirements.
  • Background with vacuum, cryogenic, UF₆, or specialized nuclear process environments.
  • Experience with system testing, commissioning, and facility startup.
  • Active or reinstate able DOE Q‑Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Handle electrical design activities for facility power distribution, equipment design, system upgrades, and nuclear process support.
  • Develop and review electrical calculations, drawings, schematics, panel schedules, wiring diagrams, grounding/bonding designs, load analyses, and electrical safety evaluations.
  • Support electrical system troubleshooting, field investigations, walkdowns, and integration of new or modified equipment.
  • Provide electrical engineering oversight for systems involving low and medium voltage power distribution, hazardous locations, safety‑significant equipment, life safety systems, lighting, and emergency/backup power systems.
  • Support design packages, installation work packages, and engineering change documentation for nuclear or high‑hazard facilities.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, nuclear, and operations personnel to ensure system compatibility, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, ISA, IEEE, UL).
  • Oversee testing, acceptance activities, and turnover documentation for new and modified electrical systems.
