About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer in San Francisco, CA. This role involves performing technical calculations and design, understanding project requirements, applying critical thinking to identify and solve issues, and executing engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures. The engineer will utilize sound judgment, understand professional and ethical responsibilities, and refine work details. Responsibilities include preparing engineering calculations, developing drawings and visual aids, researching and applying building codes and industry requirements, preparing electrical design calculations, and utilizing electrical and lighting design software. The role also involves supporting electrical engineering design activities, coordinating with multiple disciplines, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on schedule, meeting discipline-specific plans with overall project requirements, staying current with codes and technologies for electrical, telecom, and security systems, ensuring design and construction documents conform to standards, and developing designs within a BIM environment. The engineer will complete assigned tasks in accordance with client criteria and applicable codes and standards. Approximately 30% domestic travel is required, and telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Development Engineering, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Design Professional, or in a related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Development Engineering, or a related field of study and 1 year of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Design Professional, or in a related occupation.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Experience in CAD Revit.
  • Experience in SKM Power Tools.
  • Experience in AGI32.
  • Experience in MicroStation.
  • Experience in Cable and conduit sizing.
  • Experience in Voltage Drop Analysis.
  • Experience in Short Circuit Studies.
  • Experience in Protection and Coordination Study.

  • Support electrical engineering design activities on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
  • Ensure discipline-specific plans meet overall project requirements for scope and schedule.
  • Stay current with codes and technologies relevant to electrical, telecom, and security systems.
  • Ensure design and construction documents conform to standards, established practices, applicable codes, and technical requirements.
  • Develop designs within a BIM environment.
  • Complete assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client criteria and applicable codes and standards.
