About The Position

Nortek Data Center Cooling, a Madison Industries company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide support and assistance for wiring instructions, electrical issues, electrical standards, and manuals. This role involves reviewing and updating electrical wiring diagrams, bills of material, and other documentation while ensuring code compliance. The Electrical Engineer will coordinate with other engineering disciplines to develop new products and assist Quality Inspectors in generating data tags and templates. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of post-education experience in a procurement-focused, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge with Electrical SolidWorks and 3D SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and electrical codes.
  • Ability to learn new techniques and Electrical Standards requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet business objectives.
  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficient in Math and Computer Skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Technical Writing, Technology, Software.
  • Microsoft office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC System is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with team members for creating wiring diagrams and laying out 3D Electrical Components in SolidWorks.
  • Review and update Bills of Material in the Macola System.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Bill of Material, and Sales departments to meet project specifications.
  • Provide shop support and assistance for Electrical Assembly and Testing departments with HVAC control system testing and commissioning.
  • Understand and implement UL 1995, NFLA-70, UL 60335-1 and UL 60335-2-40 design requirements, methodology, and practices.
  • Create Electrical Standards or Wiring Instructions for multiple units.
  • Establish Data Tag Templates and generate Data Tags for every unit.
  • Create, review, and modify all Electrical Data on the #UCA Engineering Database, Product Brochures, Submittals, etc.
  • Evaluate wiring practices and components for cost reduction and efficiency while ensuring code compliance.
  • Follow up with ETL/MET (ETC) on electrical changes to components.
  • Assist Field Service Engineers with Electrical problems and recommend design modifications to eliminate unit or system malfunction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
