Torch Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop an Automated Test System. This individual will be responsible for selecting, integrating, and programming COTS modules, designing signal paths, and documenting the design of the test system. This individual will also be involved in understanding the electrical characteristics of Units Under Tests and developing test plans for the UUTs. As an Electrical Engineer supporting the Automated Test System, duties will include, but are not limited to: Develop and integrate electrical hardware for automated test systems, including analog and digital signal interfaces, signal conditioning, power distribution and protection, switching, data acquisition, instrumentation, custom interface circuitry, cable assemblies, harnessing, and UUT interfaces. Perform electrical analysis involving signal integrity, grounding, shielding, loading, power, and thermal considerations. Develop software in C# to interface with test equipment, instrumentation, hardware devices, and other system components. Support development of automated test applications, hardware control, measurement acquisition, communication interfaces, troubleshooting utilities, and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) interfaces. Work with software and electrical engineers to integrate electrical hardware into the overall test architecture. Select, integrate, configure, and troubleshoot COTS test equipment including PXI/PXIe instrumentation, switching systems, programmable power supplies, data acquisition hardware, signal conditioning modules, and other laboratory or automated test equipment. Candidates are not required to have prior PXI experience but should be comfortable applying their electrical engineering and programming experience to learn and integrate new instrumentation and test technologies. Develop and maintain electrical and test system documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Bills of Material (BOMs), pin maps, cable drawings, manufacturing drawings, test plans, and hardware/software interface documentation. Support prototype development, hardware bring-up, system integration, verification and validation, fault isolation, root cause analysis, self-test/BIT development, design reviews, technical working groups, and customer briefings.
