Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state. Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets. Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as an Electrical Engineer (Contract). In this position, you will play a key role in providing assistance in the execution of facility maintenance and repair projects, facility integrity assignments including asset inspections, and the execution of assessments for facility assets. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in High and Low Voltage Power Systems, Control & Instrumentation, or both areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in a recognized university by the Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA) and/or Engineering and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience.
  • Proven ability in electrical engineering.
  • Experienced in High and Low Voltage Power Systems, or Control & Instrumentation, or experience spanning both areas.
  • A track record of delivering high‑quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and a willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation by the Project Management Institute (PMI), or working towards this designation and registered with PMI, is an asset.
  • Pipeline engineering and operational experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identification, development and initiation of sustaining capital projects, including preparation of project specifications, initial cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Provide project management services including managing third party engineering firms, drawings review, permitting, job hazard analysis, cost and schedule tracking, construction liaison, commissioning, and start-up support.
  • Assist with the development of standards, procedures, and other controlled documents, for the continuous improvement of the capital projects management program.
  • Provide electrical engineering technical support to operations and other interested stakeholders such as other project managers.
  • Support Capital Projects Program (CPP) compliance efforts by preparing and attending field inspections, responding to information requests, and implementing corrective actions or preventive actions (CAPAs) that may result from such inspections.
