About The Position

Dewberry is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Raleigh, North Carolina office. The engineer will design electrical building systems as part of a project team under the supervision of a senior engineer in the Building Services Group. The role supports project delivery while balancing quality, schedule, and budget goals, with opportunities to progress toward independent design responsibilities, project management, and/or technical subject matter expertise. Experience with municipal, educational, and federal projects is desired.

Dewberry’s Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) team serves nationwide clients through specialized facility and design services. Its work includes high-performance buildings, hospitals, net-zero and renewable energy technologies, microgrid and energy-resilience design, and other MEPS services. The Raleigh Building Services Group serves public and private clients across areas including K–12 schools, universities, community colleges, state-owned facilities, correctional institutions, municipal projects, and select commercial ventures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• 3–5 years of experience providing vertical building design and construction administration services for electrical lighting, power, and telecommunications systems.
• Self-motivated and well organized.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience designing municipal, educational, and federal projects.
• FE certification; preferred but not required.
• Experience with North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina building codes.
• Experience with the North Carolina State Construction Office.
