About The Position

This entry-level Electrical Engineer (EIT) role involves working under the mentorship of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects. You will gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects including power distribution systems, instrumentation, control systems, industrial networks, telemetry, lighting, and generator systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to build a strong technical foundation and progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline required.
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to perform occasional fieldwork and travel to project sites as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (required).
  • Sponsorship not available now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6–12 months.
  • Internship or co-op experience in electrical design, utilities, or infrastructure projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support multi-discipline project teams in the production of electrical design and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in the design of electrical equipment, power distribution, and control systems, including exposure to PLCs, wiring schematics, and industrial network architecture.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations including load calculations, conductor sizing, and assist with transformer sizing and single-line diagrams.
  • Develop NEC-compliant construction drawings for service upgrades and system improvements.
  • Contribute to electrical design efforts for municipal infrastructure projects such as lift stations and irrigation systems, ensuring compliance with NEC and client standards.
  • Assist with construction phase services, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to contractor RFIs.
  • Support field activities such as site visits, inspections, and commissioning/startup of electrical systems.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members and contribute to technical reports and project documentation.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to learning industry standards, including the National Electric Code (NEC).
