About The Position

The National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS-II) Diagnostics and Instrumentation Group has an opening for an Electrical Engineering position. The candidate will perform duties of an Engineer for the maintenance, upgrade, and testing of diagnostics sub-systems in support of NSLS-II accelerator operations. This position will require close interaction with technicians, engineers, and scientific staff. A main task will be to maintain the Beam Position Monitor (BPM) system, as well as providing support for various Diagnostics sub-systems and special projects, including the development of next-generation diagnostics systems critical to accelerator operations. This will require the ability to identify modes of failure and mitigate corrective actions. Tasking will also include providing engineering support for firmware, software, and hardware development, as well as supporting other initiatives.
