About The Position

Amrep Mfg Co LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for designing, documenting, testing, improving, and leading the development of electrical devices and/or equipment. This position will also manage and develop a team of employees. The candidate will be required to work with all plant departments and will report to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited university
• 3+ Years electrical engineering experience
• 3+ Years experience working with CAN bus communication and diagnostics of vehicle components (J1939 Protocol preferred)
• 3+ Years experience using CAD software (AutoCAD)
• Effective in prioritizing and setting deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred but not required (English & Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical system and components to propose and implement improvements
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment (on-site and off-site on occasions)
• Create electrical manuals per unit with troubleshooting guidelines
• Train team members to understand our electrical system, assembly process and best practices
• Communicate with OEMs to facilitate electrical system vehicle integration
• Provide electrical engineering support across multiple departments
• Perform electrical engineering tasks associated with a project including proposals, design, engineering calculations, and cost estimations
• Train technicians how to program vehicle ECUs and ECMs
• Ensure a safe and positive work environment
• Document electrical schematics
• Other duties as assigned
