Coffman Engineers is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with eight to twelve years of consulting engineering experience who is passionate about delivering innovative design solutions and excited to grow with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of challenging projects, support our electrical engineering group, and partner with other disciplines across the firm.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (required)
• Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting system design for diverse building types
• Must have SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software experience.
• The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of Industrial, higher education, healthcare, and/or commercial projects.
• Must be familiar with electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IEEE, IESNA, IECC, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams
• Desire and capability to lead projects and coordinate across multiple disciplines
• Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
• Must be able to work in the office four(4) days a week.

Nice To Haves

• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
• Knowledge of local codes and standards (preferred)
• Experience with local contractors, architects, and construction practices (preferred)
• Experience with medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systems (preferred)
• Experience with lighting design (preferred)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design software (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical and lighting plans, specifications, and technical reports
• Support business development and marketing initiatives as needed
