About The Position

X-energy is seeking an Engineer III or IV, Electrical, to join its Engineering Team. The role supports design implementation for electric auxiliaries, interconnection, services, and/or specialties. It engages with project teams and subject matter experts to understand operability needs, interfaces, and requirements, and performs direct design and review work for drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, test plans, lists, and other assigned tasks. The engineer works independently with guidance, applying knowledge of electrical/I&C and process engineering concepts, and may support project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, proposal reviews, and technical oversight, direction, and consultation. The position supports engineering work for nuclear generating stations, including requirements capture, electrical system design and integration, design reviews, and coordination with internal teams, clients, suppliers, contractors, utility partners, and other stakeholders. It includes designing and reviewing electrical deliverables, distribution layouts, equipment and cabling, and operational approaches for commissioning, startup, normal operations, and maintenance. The role also considers plant response to electrical transients, grid conditions, extreme weather, and dispatch actions. The position is based in Rockville, Maryland, or Houston, Texas. Work site expectations are four days a week in the office and one day remote. Travel expectations are 10%. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
