About The Position

This role is for an emerging Electrical Engineer looking for an opportunity to apply their education, build technical expertise, and make a real impact on critical energy infrastructure. The engineer will join a collaborative team of experienced engineers supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of U.S. Gas Transmission electrical power systems. The role involves partnering with Operations and Project teams to support asset reliability, system performance, and electrical engineering standard methodologies. The engineer will gain hands-on experience developing engineering standards and specifications, solving technical challenges, supporting capital projects, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and industry standards, while learning from industry experts. Requirements

• 2+ years of progressive experience in an electrical engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Ability to lead efforts to solve complex technical problems and coordinate between departments and teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments to meet established time constraints while managing collaborator expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective report composition.
• Ability to effectively interact with peers, internal partners, vendors and service providers.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledgeable with regulatory and industry codes/standards, including: NFPA 70, 70E, NESC, IEEE and other applicable standards.
• Knowledge of power systems, power system coordination and modeling. SKM experience is preferred.
• Working level knowledge of the design and operation of liquids pipelines, pump stations, terminal facilities, pipeline hydraulics, and knowledge of related technologies such as mechanical, process control systems and instrumentation.
• Ability to perform power systems studies, apply SKM, and provide power system support for design, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and maintenance of electrical equipment specifications, design and construction standards.
• Assist in stewardship for electrical operating/maintenance procedures, commissioning equipment checks and testing requirements.
• Research and/or assist with technical interpretations and guidance regarding standards and codes for Enbridge operations, project groups and other partners.
• Find opportunities and participate in technical analysis and implementation of new technologies.
• Assist in power protection support and coordination/arc flash studies.
• Assist with or provide technical knowledge to drive department initiatives and department development items.
• Assist with or provide technical direction associated with asset health and reliability, asset condition-based maintenance and fleet management.
• Assist with or provide power systems engineering and technical support.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and prepare solutions for electrical issues related to medium and high voltage electrical assets, operating, testing and commissioning.
• Assist with guidance for electrical system/asset reliability, quality and electrical safety support.
• Assist with or provide technical for regional engineers, technical supervisors, contract engineers, and specialists to develop solutions to equipment and process reliability issues.
• Drive development of asset reliability assessment and prioritization to support capital and maintenance budget development activities including Risk Register items supporting Long Range Planning and Forecasting.
• Provide technical mentoring and training to engineers, regional technicians and other support groups.
• Provide technical review for failure analyses and incident investigations.
• Support technical design reviews.
• Provide engineering expertise and participate in designs to project managers on capital projects or programs within the region supported.
• Provide technical review and sign off of electrical test results.
• Provide power protective relay commissioning support.
