About The Position

Brewer-Garrett is a Facility Solutions Company focused on making buildings more energy-efficient through HVAC design, electrical upgrades, building automation systems, maintenance, and repair. They are a Solution-Based business that saves clients money through reduced energy usage and improved carbon footprint. The BG team is known for its creativity, dedication, and team-oriented approach. They are seeking a driven, team-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the electrical design of assigned projects, utilizing expert knowledge in electrical systems design and engineering. This role involves identifying and solving electrical engineering problems. The Electrical Engineer will initiate conceptual designs, subject to review and approval by the Electrical Engineer Team Lead, Engineering Manager, and Preconstruction Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of three (3) years' electrical engineering experience, HVAC engineering experience with a professional engineering firm, automation contractor, or mechanical contractor engaged in MEP related or similar work desired.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel to worksites, up to 25% of the time.
  • Basic understanding of electrical design and engineering and construction means and methods associated with the new or renovation of commercial and institutional buildings and/or similar facilities.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft office suite; proficient in other software used in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g. Procore, SharePoint, Bluebeam Revu).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit Design software.
  • Mathematical skills to perform the duties of this role, review or prepare budgets and other job-related documents, and to effectively perform the role of an electrical engineer.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written); must be able to effectively relay information to various audience groups, including customers and perspective customers, managers, leadership, colleagues, and business associates; must be able to prepare professional written communications (emails, documents, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with individuals internal and external to the company and from various backgrounds.
  • Highly collaborative and focused on sharing details routinely and consistently with team members.
  • Self-managing, able to work autonomously when necessary and effectively integrate with project teammates to meet deadlines and expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the electrical design, engineering, and specifications for the project.
  • Organize the engineering effort required to facilitate the project from initial concept through completion.
  • Make any adjustments to calculations, drawings, and specifications as required by the team lead electrical engineer.
  • Must be familiar with the project's scope of work, engineering hours budget, and construction budget.
  • Utilize knowledge of best engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete the drawings.
  • Inform the team lead electrical engineer of project scope.
  • Perform site surveys and equipment assessments.
  • Provide project engineering coordination during construction as assigned.
  • Other tasks assigned within the scope of this role.
