The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively within a team environment. You bring strong organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting deadlines. This role requires regular interaction with clients, making strong communication skills essential.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 6–10 years of experience in electrical engineering consulting
  • Experience with ETAP (power studies)
  • Registered with, or eligible for registration with, APEGA
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with Canadian engineering standards
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC
  • Knowledge of energy markets and sustainable design practices
  • Power distribution and power studies
  • High- and low-voltage system design
  • Motor control systems
  • Emergency backup power generation
  • Uninterruptible power systems (UPS)
  • Lighting design, controls, and calculations (AGi32 or Visual)
  • Communications and infrastructure systems
  • Fire alarm system design
  • Sustainable design standards (LEED, WELL, Net Zero)
  • Building and infrastructure evaluation

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering Designation (P. Eng.) in the Province of Alberta considered an asset
  • BIM/Revit experience is an asset
  • Experience with AGi32 or Visual lighting software is an asset
  • Knowledge of security and A/V systems (asset)

  • Participating in internal and external design meetings
  • Preparing electrical drawings and details
  • Developing project specifications
  • Assisting with arc flash, fault, and coordination studies
  • Supporting design coordination and quality control
  • Construction administration
