Electrical Engineer
About The Position
A reputable engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a focus on Water/Wastewater projects to join their growing team in Columbus! This role involves planning production for industrial (water/wastewater) and environmental facilities, coordinating design elements with other in-house disciplines, and defining equipment, layout, and protection requirements for new and retrofit distribution stations. The engineer will communicate with clients to determine requirements and develop appropriate distribution station plans/specifications, while also collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams on system layout, SCADA controls, automation, and instrumentation. Preparation of electrical calculations for power distribution, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited preferred) or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience
- Water/wastewater treatment experience preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire)
- Working knowledge of power distribution (low and medium voltage), standby power systems, instrumentation, controls, lighting, and fire alarm systems
- Familiar with ICC, NEC, NFPA building codes, LEED building standards
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit design software
- Proficient with MS office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- Water/wastewater treatment experience
