About The Position

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their growing Water and Wastewater team in either their Tampa or Jacksonville office. As part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and project managers, the role will contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of critical water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects that serve communities throughout Florida and beyond. Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Minimum of 1-3 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably supporting municipal water and wastewater facilities, pumping stations, utility infrastructure, transportation, energy, or industrial projects.
Exposure to electrical systems design for water and wastewater facilities, including: Low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, Motor control centers (MCCs), Variable frequency drives (VFDs), Standby generator systems, Automatic transfer switches (ATS), Lighting and grounding systems, SCADA and industrial communications systems, Process instrumentation and control systems.
Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize workload, and meet project schedules and deadlines.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within twelve (12) months.
Familiarity with power system studies using SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar software is preferred.
Familiarity with process instrumentation including flow, pressure, level, analytical, and related field devices is desirable.
Experience with Revit, SKM, ETAP, AGi32, or similar engineering software is a plus.
Experience preparing engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and reports is desirable.

Responsibilities

Supporting the evaluation, analysis, and resolution of electrical and controls engineering challenges.
Assisting with the design of electrical power distribution, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA systems for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
Assisting in preparing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and other project deliverables through all phases of design.
Assisting with power system studies, including short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, and load flow analyses.
Supporting coordination between multidisciplinary teams, including process, mechanical, civil, structural, and instrumentation disciplines, to support project delivery.
Supporting projects during construction through review of RFIs, submittals, and field observations.
Supporting continuous professional development through technical training, project experience, and collaboration with senior engineering staff.
Representing Mott MacDonald professionally while supporting the commitment to technical excellence, innovation, and client service.
