About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced electrical and control systems for engineered products and solutions for emerging contaminant water treatment solutions. You will play a key role in translating process requirements into robust, compliant, and cost-effective electrical architectures, supporting the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning. You are responsible for the design, specification, and implementation of electrical power systems supporting the water treatment solution process and associated pilot‑scale treatment systems. This role ensures safe, code‑compliant, and robust electrical infrastructure from utility connection through end‑use loads. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that drive quality and efficiency across our water treatment and industrial projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation Design, or a related field, with 8–10 years of experience in electrical/control system and hardware design (or equivalent combination).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, practices, codes, and safety standards.
  • Experience with PLC platforms (e.g. Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon) and hands-on troubleshooting. Troubleshoot power quality, grounding, overheating, and protection issues during startup
  • Ability to produce, review, and interpret technical documentation (drawings, models, schematics, panel layouts, BOM, I/O and alarm lists).
  • High competency with Windows-based applications and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; effective communication and collegial attitude.
  • Ability to work in dynamic, diverse environments and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Availability to travel 5–10% to job sites or other De Nora facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the water treatment industry.
  • Electrochemistry/Electrochemical system design
  • Pilot plant design and scaleup.
  • Field experience (commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting).
  • SAP experience.
  • Advanced AutoCAD experience.
  • EIT or PE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems and requirements for electrochemical reactors, rectifiers, pumps, mixers, heaters, and ancillary equipment. Specify wiring methods, grounding, bonding, cable trays, conduits, and junction boxes.
  • Select electrical hardware and define control strategies in compliance with engineering and safety standards.
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation (electrical one‑lines, schematics, panel layouts, and cable schedules) to support fabrication and project execution.
  • Support the full project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Strong coordination with controls, mechanical, and process engineering disciplines
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors. Works closely with Controls Engineer to ensure adequate and reliable power to PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through standards development, new engineering methods, and optimization initiatives, ensuring health and safety compliance.
