Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • At least 1 year of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong communication and technical skills
  • High degree of initiative
  • Ability to contribute individually and as a leader in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chemical or petrochemical industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to Electrical Engineering in the chemical industry preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting instruments, controllers, PLCs and DeltaV DCS preferred
  • Experience with SAP Maintenance preferred
  • Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support operations and electricians during ongoing plant operations including troubleshooting, equipment repairs and support during major turnarounds
  • Lead the design and selection of electrical equipment considering factors such as safety, reliability, maintainability, cost and schedule
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations
  • Apply industry codes and standards relevant to the chemical industry, such as NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes, in the design and evaluation of electrical systems and equipment
  • Implement projects and process changes following Management of Change procedures
  • Provide training on processes, process controls and changes to all levels within the department
  • Provide on-call process operations support coverage on a rotating basis
