Position Overview TRAXyL is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our product development team. This role focuses on designing and developing advanced machinery and specialized equipment that support our innovative infrastructure solutions. You will play a key role in conceptualizing electrical systems, selecting components, evaluating trade-offs, and driving designs from concept through implementation. This is a highly collaborative position working alongside multidisciplinary engineers and technicians in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience in electrical engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of small engines and electro-mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Experience designing and installing wire harnesses for equipment or vehicles
  • Ability to specify wire sizes, connectors, and electrical components based on voltage/current requirements
  • Familiarity with control systems components (power supplies, relays, contactors, etc.)
  • Experience building and assembling mechanical/electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of sensors, I/O systems, and basic system integration
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of autonomy

Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions and meet project milestones
  • Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical systems with a focus on reliability and precision
  • Develop and evaluate system architectures, components, and design trade-offs
  • Plan and execute testing at the component, subsystem, and system levels; analyze and document results
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges in both development and field environments
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics using tools such as SolidWorks Electrical, Visio, or similar
  • Support the design and integration of wiring harnesses, control panels, and electrical enclosures
