About The Position

This role is for an experienced Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a deep understanding of electric utilities to investigate the causes of incidents. You will work with other experts on significant cases, continuously learning throughout your career. Prior forensic experience is not required, as the company provides training based on its extensive experience in expert witness services. The position involves critically assessing decision-making, operational practices, and standards of care to understand the "why" behind incidents.

Requirements

  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of electrical engineering experience, including experience with electric utilities (investor-owned, public power, and/or cooperatives), design, construction, operation, & maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, & devices.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal/state/local laws, rules, regs, codes, standards of care, & safety aspects.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, objective evidence for non-technical audiences.
  • A clean background screen, a driver’s license, and the ability to drive.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert testimony.
