You will work with an integrated facilities management team at our clients commercial real estate portfolio with critical environments managed by JLL. Location: Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Reports to: Regional Engineering Director Estimated compensation for this position is: $115,000 - $130,000 annually What this job involves: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support critical site operations at our clients Poughkeepsie, NY facility. This role demands a proactive, technically proficient professional capable of delivering exceptional engineering support while maintaining operational excellence in a mission-critical, high-profile environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical infrastructure serving one of our clients key technology centers. What your day-to-day will look like: Electrical Systems Management Provide comprehensive engineering support for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, emergency power systems, EPO (Emergency Power Off), and building services equipment Oversee electrical and energy management systems, encompassing high-voltage distribution (115kV substations, 13.8kV systems) and critical utilities infrastructure Evaluate and recommend upgrades or replacements for aging electrical infrastructure, including 480V substations and related equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and electrical faults by diagnosing root causes and implementing effective, sustainable solutions Provide expert consultation during electrical events, including power dips, surges, and outages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations Execute Selective Coordination studies, Equipment Evaluations, Balance system analyses, and Arc Flash studies using SKM software Project Management and Collaboration Support day-to-day operations while contributing to strategic project management activities Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules for electrical infrastructure initiatives Oversee infrastructure construction, maintenance, and installation projects from conception through completion Collaborate closely with internal client teams to develop innovative solutions and define scopes of work for facility service vendors Stakeholder Engagement and Compliance Act as the primary technical liaison with Central Hudson, the local utility provider Provide technical guidance and oversight to design consultants and contractors Ensure full compliance with local and state standards for all electrical system modifications and installations Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and executive-level presentations Financial Planning Support financial planning activities, including budgeting for equipment lifecycle replacement and business case development

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of progressive experience in site facilities, manufacturing, or data center operations
  • Proficiency in SKM software for power system analysis and expertise in high-voltage electrical systems and critical infrastructure management
  • Strong project management capabilities including development, budgeting, and scheduling with exceptional independent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction across all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, suppliers, vendors, and contractors in team environments
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends for planned maintenance activities
  • Demonstrated capacity to make sound engineering decisions independently in critical situations
