About The Position

Eaton’s Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure - Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer. This role will be based out of our Raleigh, NC. office. This position will be a hybrid office (3x2) role as long as you live within 50 miles of our Raleigh, NC facility. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only. This role provides engineering design work for power quality and energy storage products plus support for custom manufacturing; supports other engineers and marketing with guidance on product performance and operation. Be a part of the team responsible for ensuring our critical infrastructure such as data centers, businesses, and electric vehicle charging stations remain functional in the face of whatever power quality issues they face! Our growing team is expanding our product portfolio with next-generation technologies, and we need engineers with a passion to ensure that they make what matters to our customers work without question!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum one (1) year of electrical or mechanical engineering experience required (internship included)
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with Inverter theory/knowledge, knowledge battery systems and protective devices including power distribution
  • Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power electronics, and power conversion topologies

Responsibilities

  • Review assigned Engineer to Order (ETO) tasks and determine the final design to implement based on budget, performance, and shipment timeline.
  • Develop required documentation for manufacture and servicing.
  • Work closely with other engineers and departments to formulate best product designs.
  • Serve as a technical expert in our products to other engineers and key customers both pre and post-sale.
  • Provide engineering designs and guidance in new power quality products, in particular UPS, alternative energy/energy storage, power distribution, and related products.
  • Participates in pre and post-sale issue resolution.
  • Works directly with safety agencies and implements designs to meet those requirements.
