About The Position

Harriman has an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to join our firm as a licensed Electrical Engineer. Harriman promotes a holistic and inclusive approach to design, and our electrical engineering team works closely with our other internal architectural and engineering studios to develop high-level efficient and coordinated designs. Our electrical engineering staff also work directly with prime engineering clients on a diverse group of project types. Requirements

  • Professionally licensed, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Familiar with the principles of engineering, knowledge of advanced math, physics, and electrical science applicable to the field.
  • Undergraduate Degree (4 years minimum) in Electrical Engineering (other engineering degrees to be considered on a case-by-case basis).
  • Able to complete small and medium sized projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with the tools required to achieve project completion (ie software, reference documents, calculations, and contacts).
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Revit
  • Proficient with PDF Editing software such as Adobe or Bluebeam.
  • Capable of utilizing additional software as needed to perform complex calculations.
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Act independently regarding engineering methods and calculations, applying sound and diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practices in a broad array of assignments
  • Plan and conduct work including evaluation, selection, and design of electrical equipment and components
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, landscape architects, and architectural team members within our full-service firm.
  • Assess problems and answer technical questions independently in front of clients, including providing guidance to and review the work of unlicensed engineers and designers.
  • Develop detailed system designs, presentations, documentation and production of electrical engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Produce contract drawings in Revit on assigned projects, with the capacity to delegate work on larger projects to designers and unlicensed engineers.
  • Have the opportunity to perform project management duties on small projects
