About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Responsibilities include performing a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities. This role requires applying broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and DOE complex requirements. The engineer will perform conventional engineering design, analysis, and calculations, develop, review, and support engineering design packages, and provide construction, field, and project engineering support. The role involves working independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-discipline team, applying engineering technology and tools to deliver high quality work, and interfacing with stakeholders across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University and 3+ years of relevant experience for level 2 engineer, 8+ years for level 3 engineering role.
  • Must be a United States (U.S.) citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance (a "Q" clearance will be required).
  • Familiar with low power, <480. 208 and 120.
  • Prior design experience in power.
  • Experience with construction documentation and specs.
  • Experience mitigating the field.
  • Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
  • Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA‑1, IBC, NFPA, NEC).
  • Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
  • Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents).
  • Experience with computer‑aided design/drafting software or markup tools.
