The Electrical Engineer will conduct research and develop functional specifications, technical designs, and support for the controls hardware, transformers, filters, VFDs, and motors within the Daikin Applied Chiller products. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience or interest in power design, power distribution, VFD's, electric and control motors

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of related work experience
  • HVAC industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare specifications for power electronic equipment to be used on Chiller equipment
  • Prepare test and qualification plans for power electronic equipment
  • Review test data from power electronic equipment to evaluate suitability and performance
  • Support cross-functional meetings to review project progress
  • Support corrective actions to solve quality problems
  • Support activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operation testing conform to UL safety certifications
  • Work directly with the subassemblies of the electrical equipment supporting controls products.
  • Design electrical motors, control motors, electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, domestic and internal purposes
  • Design test control apparatus and equipment, and determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products
  • Support activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Support operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field and internal installations
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and simulation to perform engineering tasks
