About The Position

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is a global leader in aerospace innovation, headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec. They design and manufacture aircraft engines for various aircraft and helicopters. The Test Facilities Engineering team is responsible for the design, development, commissioning, and continuous improvement of test cells and test systems for engine development, certification, and performance validation. This specific role involves contributing to the development and implementation of advanced electrical and automated systems for next-generation engine programs and test facilities, combining hands-on technical expertise with project coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical systems, automation, or industrial engineering environments

Nice To Haves

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley)
  • Experience with HMI programming (Wonderware InTouch)
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and databases
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and measurement systems

  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with industrial systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research, development, design, integration, and validation of electrical and automation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for engine test facilities and automated test benches.
  • Analyze technical requirements, operational constraints, costs, schedules, and customer needs to assess project feasibility and define optimal solutions.
  • Design and specify electrical systems, instrumentation, control systems, and automation architectures for industrial applications.
  • Coordinate and oversee the manufacturing, installation, commissioning, maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting of electrical and automated systems.
  • Develop project schedules and support budget planning.
  • Support the integration and implementation of new technologies across test systems and facilities.
  • Participate in technical reviews, project meetings, and interdisciplinary discussions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and other team members.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
