About The Position

SCCI is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in support of a Weapon System Program. In this position, you will provide direct support to rapid acquisition and tactical prototyping projects. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the engineering design teams, as well as with end-users, management, and sponsors throughout the design, integration, and iterative test of prototypes and tactical systems. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of professional experience
  • Experience with data analysis and test setup, execution, and documentation
  • Ability to travel and work in shipboard environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents
  • Attention to detail in project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammar
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working aboard naval vessels or in DoD related programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency in test and evaluation of DoD equipment
  • Knowledge of Radar Interface and general RF theory
  • Active secret level DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Participate in mission-essential testing of shipboard electronic components
  • Support both land-based and shipboard test events
  • Execute tests using test equipment such as Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Function Generators, Power Supplies, and custom test setups
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data/results and provide analysis of results to Engineering and R&D team members
  • Create observation reports, test reports, trip summaries, and other associated mission-related documentation
  • Support the design of packaging line layouts, Equipment P&ID's, and packaging component data
  • Analyze equipment failures and provide solutions and recommendations on areas of improvement
  • Maintain custom test equipment
