Electrical Engineer - Solar Program

Wesco•Austin, TX
•$81,714 - $106,227

About The Position

The Electrical Engineer supports Wesco’s Solar manufacturing operation in Austin, Texas, serving as a technical bridge between Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, estimating and customer support, suppliers, and customers in the field. The position combines hands-on production support with engineering work and is not strictly a design engineering role. It involves troubleshooting electrical equipment and production or test issues, reviewing bills of materials and drawings, resolving quality concerns, supporting new opportunities, and providing technical assistance to customers when needed. The engineer reviews customer specifications and RFQ materials, evaluates project feasibility, identifies gaps in RFQ packages, and analyzes electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, component selections, substitutions, and revisions. The role also includes preparing specifications and part numbers, reviewing and controlling system information as requirements change, producing mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic designs in 2D and 3D, and helping transition prototype assemblies into volume manufacturing. The engineer supports first-article builds, new-product releases, production priorities, tooling and equipment needs, supplier and customer audits, continuous improvement, and training on production processes.
